Lila Downs y Cinco de Mayo

I am a few days late, but in honor of Cinco de Mayo, I am posting a song by one of my current Mexican favorites, Lila Downs. Enjoy!

Thank you for the credits! I will definitely add you too to my blog roll!

As a non-American citizen I'm keen on getting some inside information from the U.S. What do you think will happen with the American foreign policy if the Democrats are getting their man (or woman this time) at the Presidential post? Is there a risk that America will close itself within its borders and suffer some sort of relapse into isolationism a la post-WW1-status? We can see the signs quite clear; the Americans turned their backs on Wilson and on Europe. Many Americans believed that the sacrifices they had made in the Great War had been a waste of money and men. They were opposed to anything that might drag America into another European war.
As far as I'm concerned, we now experience some sort of weird déjà vu...

Cheers!

great choice of artiste, pointless video. You sound a nice and idealistic young man; all thats best about America. Someone once observed anyone who is not a socialist when he's in his 20's has no heart. Anyone who is one when in his 30's has no head. There is no great credit in being a liberal - it's today's fashion. They are like sheep and bleat loudly to show how the heart on their sleeve bleeds so. All tides turn. Bleeding hearts can have their day in their self-righteous sun. I just wonder what the next fad wiil be. Be positive and lucky, from a very old salt turned philosophy student.
