I wrote a piece concerning David Horowitz calling UCSC the worst university in America a week or so back. Here is a video of Horowitz defending his position, and includes a number of shots of Cowell College which I happily worked at for more than 4 years at.
I personally think Horowitz is correct in his assessment of the New-Left and the way it has created a stranglehold on academia, but I also have a problem with his “Academic Bill of Rights” that claims to alleviate the problem.

I'm no fan of Mr. Horowitz. I generally find him an ideologue. He simply switched his former far-left orthodoxy for a conservative orthodoxy.
From
conservative = Nazi
To
liberal = Communist/Islamofascist
Personal differences with Mr. Horowitz aside, I am interested in what specific problems you have with the Academic Bill of Rights?
I'm with you on the Bill of Rights Roland. I also think that alot of the problem lies in individual students. On many campuses, non-radicals tend to keep quiet. Speak up! This is America after all.
I will occasionally read Horowitz or see him on TV and think that he comes across as reasonable. Other times he just seems like a massive idiot. I guess you can say I won’t be joining his fan club anytime soon.
The basic principles of the ADoR are good, but I fear that it will create more regulation and more speech codes in the attempt to make things more “fair”. I think that the negative criticism the University system as a whole has been picking up is slowly changing the ideological preferences in the university system. I do think it takes some time however; it took the New –Left 20 years to build the current system. It will take at least 10 to reverse the tide.
