Pray to Castro for Candy



This great piece of Cold War propaganda would be hilariously bad if it wasn’t technically true.

I must say, I have never known someone to doubt the existence of God by using candy as an example, but there it is in all its sinister glory!

There was a similar scene in the film Europa, Europa which was based on the life of Salomon Perel the true story of a Jewish boy who escaped Germany for Poland after Kristallnacht, escaped to Soviet occupied Poland in September 1939, then sucessfully claimed to be Volksdeutsch after Barbarossa.

He was sent to a Hitler Youth school and survived the war.

Actually one of the reasons why I loathe communism is because of the bad name it gave to atheism...
