Good old Uncle Ron got into some problems this week when it came to light that he was given a donation by the white supremacist Don Black, the head of Stormfront, and then refused to give back the money when confronted about this “un-influential” individual. Here is Paul with Don Black.

Well, the fanatical fringe support for Paul doesn't stop there. Over at Little Green Footballs, they have been exposing case after case in which Paul is courting some of the vilest portions of our society, in a very clear and calculated way.
At Vanguard News Network (another racist site), they had this to say:
“I have kept quiet about the Ron Paul campaign for a while, because I didn’t see any need to say anything that would cause any trouble. However, reading the latest release from his campaign spokesman, I am compelled to tell the truth about Ron Paul’s extensive involvement in white nationalism.
Both Congressman Paul and his aides regularly meet with members of the Stormfront set, American Renaissance, the Institute for Historic Review, and others at the Tara Thai restaurant in Arlington, Virginia, usually on Wednesdays. This is part of a dinner that was originally organized by Pat Buchanan, Sam Francis and Joe Sobran, and has since been mostly taken over by the Council of Conservative Citizens.”
This claim is corroborated atRon’s federal disbursement page.
It’s not just right wing idiots that back Paul. The 9/11 “Truther” movement has jumped right into his ship, and Paul has made no gestures that this disturbs him in the least.
Let’s not forgot how popular the man has become with the moonbats either. Not only has hard lefty Dennis Kucinich stated that he wants to run on the same ticket as Paul, but the totalitarian communists at Counterpunch also seem to have an affinity for this halfwit. I wrote a piece a few weeks back about how frequently you find pro-Paul comments at staunchly socialist and anarchist sites. It seems there is no stopping the crud that Paul can pull in from both sides!
To be fair, one should not condemn a candidate just because he may have some crazy supporters. Lord knows you won't have to look hard to find someone you don'tt like supporting your candidate of choice. But Ron Paul isn't just picking up a few crazies: he is getting huge portions of their movements. I am sure there are plenty libertarians backing Ron who don't subscribe to either radical fringe, but you must also recognize that the head-in-the-sand isolationism that Paul supports sure does keep odd bedfellows.
But wait, the Ron Paul forums say this is all a smear by “Zio-Nazis”! Those Jooos…… I knew it! (sarcasm off)
UPDATE: I should make it clear that I don’t believe Paul is a Nazi, or a Communist, or even a “Truther”. Hey may even hate all of those things. But he is none-the-less pulling these people into his camp in a significant way, and that should worry libertarians attracted to Ron.

Just a few points on your post. I'm not saying that Paul doesn't have support from some people with out there views but that's not a reason to incorrectly stick the guy with one of the worst labels out there.
The picture posted was taken at the Voters Value debate where many pictures were taken by many people with many candidates and I find it unlikely that the candidates knew everyone they took pictures with.
About the "verified" claim regarding dinners, this blog
http://irregulartimes.com/index.php/archives/2007/12/20/tara-thai-ron-paul-and-white-supremacists-fec-report-data/
dug into FEC reports a bit and found that of the mentions of the Tara Thai restaurant (that happens to be on the same block as the Paul campaign office) only 1 out of 7 reciepts found was for a Wed.
Also in an interview earlier this year when talking about possible running mates Paul suggested Walter Williams an economist who happens to be an African American.
http://blog.washingtonpost.com/sleuth/2007/05/do_tell_ron_paul_on_babies_pro.html
Sleuth: If you were to defy the polls and the odds and win the nomination, who would be your running mate?
Paul: Well, I don't know, but if I won, you know, I'd want a recount. You know, lets be certain about what's going on here.
But a running mate. Somebody like Walter Williams. Walter Williams is a very good economist. John Stossel, John Stossel would be good.
Thanks for the comment “anonymous”. If possible folks, try and at least use some alias, I allow that in my comments section.
You are correct about the picture of him with Black: at these events, you get your picture taken with a load of folks, and I don’t claim this is “proof” that Paul is some kind of racist nutjob. In fact, I don’t think Ron Paul is a Nazi or a Communist, or even a 9/11 “Truther” for that matter. What I find interesting is how all of these groups, with their radical distaste for reality, have flocked to Paul.
And truth be told, even if Paul wasn’t pulling in good money and making a splash this primary, I would still dislike him because of the policy he advocates. It is not a coincidence that his anti-internationalism has been embraced by the crazy right and left.
Ron Paul looks like he's attracting loons like flies around a turd. If he had any integrity he would return the Stormfront money with a suggestion where it could be shoved.
I agree Jams. With the unavoidable fact that Paul has attracted all these idiots to his campaign, he has to choose between legitimacy and petty support.
*I apologize for the length of this comment, I didn’t intend to write this much and understand completely if you don’t want to post it due to it’s length or content but since I am just going to delete it anyway I figured I would submit it so at least 1 person can read it.*
Thank you for posting my previous comment and forgive me for not using an alias before, I am rather new at posting comments on blogs. As a Paul supporter I hear horror stories on both sides of how some bloggers and some Paul supporters go way over the lines of what would be considered civil discourse which makes me a bit tepid about posting.
Any of Paul’s positions stated below are my interpretation of his policy.
I can certainly agree that Paul seems to draw supporters as you said from both the crazy right and left and truth be told it’s unfortunate to me that they often feel the need to try and attach their personal views to the campaign. Especially because I often feel their voices drown out what I believe is Paul’s true base of support which are the disaffected voter and the fiscally conservative. Regarding the donation from the racist Paul has said that returning it would only give that group more resources to spread it’s message which makes sense to me although I wouldn’t be upset if he donated it charity.
I can appreciate your concern of anti-internationalism being bad for the country but can honestly say that is not how I understand Paul’s positions to work. Most people tend to focus on the war in Iraq when speaking of Paul’s foreign policy and incorrectly assume that because he wants to leave he is an isolationist which is not his reason for wanting to leave Iraq but rather a combination of that it was incorrect to go initially and now is economically unsustainable. Regarding the rest of the international community Paul believes strongly in trading and talking to all countries even saying he wants to lift the embargo with Cuba. These types of actions, in my opinion, would start repairing our international reputation and allow us to influence other countries in a more effective manner. I do think that we spread democracy and freedom much better by being a positive example than by demanding change.
I also feel that both our countries reputation and security is threatened by economic instability as evidenced by the weakening of our dollar, the increasing deficit, and out of control spending. Because of this I think we need a candidate that can look Americans in the face and say that he will cut spending and balance the budget and mean it. When I look at the available candidates, regardless of their positions, only one stands out to me as having always stuck by his principles and convictions even if it was the unpopular choice (as I feel many necessary spending cuts may be). On this issue alone I have to support Paul. (Although in the honesty and making tough decision department Mccain comes in a very close second.)
While I can’t say I would want a Paul like president for the next 50 years I do think that 4 years spent getting things going back in the right direction is the right move and while Paul may not be a visionary for the future he just might be the person to set this country up to be ready and able to act when we do.
Hey Brett. As long as a post is not “fuck you neocon Jews” or commercial spam, I will never delete a comment, even if it does not agree with my post. Thanks for posting a response.
I think you are correct when you say that most of Paul’s supporters are the fiscal conservatives who have little interest in pushing democracy and human rights overseas. That is a bulk of his support, and it may even be most libertarians in this country. I used to classify myself as a libertarian, but the recent election cycle has forced me to reconsider my previous association.
While I feel you can not support the war in Iraq and still be an internationalist, Paul is clearly in support of pulling both financial and physical support from all democratic and military movements overseas. On this issue, you will find that I am not your Republican voter, and not even fiscally conservative, because I believe the fight for democracy is something America must engage in. Not just because the UN has failed to protect people and the rights of liberal democrats across the globe, but because the US is the only force capable of actually making it a reality. I understand why Paul supporters don’t support that, and don’t feel it is worth the price, but I diverge completely. I want freedom for all people, everywhere, and I hope America continues that cause as its own.
Supporting trade and non military actions is a great thing, but the US does have a responsibility to this world to defend human rights and democracy with our military. So do the Dutch, French, Japanese, and every other nation on the planet, but most don’t. I care very little for the sovereignty of tyrants, and I will not support a candidate like Paul who believes it is better to let them be than confront them.
All of the fiscal conservatism and “leave me alone” libertarianism Paul pushes, I understand. I want the government to spend less of my money and use it better, and more importantly, leave me alone in my private life. But democracy is something I will never surrender, and if Paul feels it is not worth fighting for, regardless of the place it is being fought, then I will have to toss him aside as yet another paleo-conservative who has no interest in the world beyond his borders.
Hey former First Lady Rosalyn Carter once posed for a picture with serial killer John Wayne Gacy. Must make her a serial killer (or a serial killer sympathizer) too!

Ron Paul spambots are already posting their slime over at McCain's christmas ad on YouTube. Ironic really. They lecture everyone else about patriotism, yet they slam a guy who actually served his country. My guess is that 86% of Paul supporters have never held a job.
Roland,
I appreciate you posting my comment and your fair response to it.
“I think you are correct when you say that most of Paul’s supporters are the fiscal conservatives who have little interest in pushing democracy and human rights overseas.”
Speaking only for myself I do hope that as a country we can spread democracy and human rights. It’s my impression that our current foreign policy is actually hurting that cause. It wasn’t to long ago that the idea of spreading democracy by force would have seemed wrong and even this current war was not sold to us in this manner until we were there and no WMD were found. It’s always been my belief that America exported democracy and human rights best by being an example to all countries. A free and prosperous America pressures oppressive governments around the world to change through their own people and when the very citizens of these countries are the ones lobbying for change any change effected this way is much more likely to be long lasting and stable.
While I also agree that military use may be warranted in some situations and that Paul wouldn’t be likely to use it I still think that 4 years of him as President is the course for our country. The main reason being our economy, because if we don’t get the spending and budgets under control quickly we won’t have the funds to push democracy or human rights anywhere and then we become a negative example to the world. Those against democracy and freedom would point to us and declare democracy a failure like we point at the former Soviet Union. It wasn’t bombs that brought down the Soviets but economics and it wasn’t talk about preemptive nuclear first strikes that brought down the Berlin wall but the will of it’s own people for change. It is my hope that a Paul presidency in addition to getting things back on track economically would set a precedent for future presidents that proper spending is not only a goal but a reality and getting back to a prosperous America gives the correct tools to future presidents to do what is necessary. Doing this would give America it’s stature back around the world and let us once again be the example of why democracy works.

It is absolutely fair to say that libertarians have no idea about politics. You can Leave Me Alone or you can Get Involved, but you can't do both.
In the US, libertarians got into bed with the biggest tax-and-spend, public largesse administration in American history. In Australia, libertarians find themselves ensnared with LaRouchites and other freaks, as I've said elsewhere. For people convinced that they have a mortgage on universal human needs for freedom, they sure have little real idea as to what people want or how to work a system whose oppressions they claim to know.
LeaveMeAloners are the ideal people to recast the whole idea of civil liberties and the rights of man in the twentyfirst century. The right of politics has locked-and-loaded itself out of this debate, and the left are just shrilly insistent that they've learnt nothing since c.1970.
Hey dude, just found your page. You posted a video I made on YouTube that had Mark Levin explaining Ron Paul's idiocy regarding war declarations. Keep kicking neo-isolationist ass. From what I've read, you're a good man.
