Ron Paul: Loved by Nazis, Communists, and Idiots Everywhere!

Oh that Ron Paul, he sure brings out the crazies!

Good old Uncle Ron got into some problems this week when it came to light that he was given a donation by the white supremacist Don Black, the head of Stormfront, and then refused to give back the money when confronted about this “un-influential” individual. Here is Paul with Don Black.



Well, the fanatical fringe support for Paul doesn't stop there. Over at Little Green Footballs, they have been exposing case after case in which Paul is courting some of the vilest portions of our society, in a very clear and calculated way.

At Vanguard News Network (another racist site), they had this to say:

“I have kept quiet about the Ron Paul campaign for a while, because I didn’t see any need to say anything that would cause any trouble. However, reading the latest release from his campaign spokesman, I am compelled to tell the truth about Ron Paul’s extensive involvement in white nationalism.

Both Congressman Paul and his aides regularly meet with members of the Stormfront set, American Renaissance, the Institute for Historic Review, and others at the Tara Thai restaurant in Arlington, Virginia, usually on Wednesdays. This is part of a dinner that was originally organized by Pat Buchanan, Sam Francis and Joe Sobran, and has since been mostly taken over by the Council of Conservative Citizens.”

It’s not just right wing idiots that back Paul. The 9/11 “Truther” movement has jumped right into his ship, and Paul has made no gestures that this disturbs him in the least.

Let’s not forgot how popular the man has become with the moonbats either. Not only has hard lefty Dennis Kucinich stated that he wants to run on the same ticket as Paul, but the totalitarian communists at Counterpunch also seem to have an affinity for this halfwit. I wrote a piece a few weeks back about how frequently you find pro-Paul comments at staunchly socialist and anarchist sites. It seems there is no stopping the crud that Paul can pull in from both sides!

To be fair, one should not condemn a candidate just because he may have some crazy supporters. Lord knows you won't have to look hard to find someone you don'tt like supporting your candidate of choice. But Ron Paul isn't just picking up a few crazies: he is getting huge portions of their movements. I am sure there are plenty libertarians backing Ron who don't subscribe to either radical fringe, but you must also recognize that the head-in-the-sand isolationism that Paul supports sure does keep odd bedfellows.

But wait, the Ron Paul forums say this is all a smear by “Zio-Nazis”! Those Jooos…… I knew it! (sarcasm off)

UPDATE: I should make it clear that I don’t believe Paul is a Nazi, or a Communist, or even a “Truther”. Hey may even hate all of those things. But he is none-the-less pulling these people into his camp in a significant way, and that should worry libertarians attracted to Ron.

Lee Myung-bak Smacks Foes, Easily Wins

Lee Myung-bak, as predicated, wins easily and thankfully destroys 10 years of protectionist-leftist rule in Korea. I hope his presidency stands up to its expectations.

As a political junkie, I relished in the evening I spent at the bar, watching the county by county tally. I understood very little, by my own admission, but watching the votes come in still gave me a thrill that I enjoyed at great lengths.

Stand with the Kurdish People

Throughout the 70’s and 80’s, it was taken as common knowledge amongst leftists that standing up for the rights of the Kurds throughout the artificial regions European powers created when they ended their colonial legacy, was to the benefit of all free peoples. It is deeply saddening to see so many individuals who once claimed to support this community, turn their backs on them because their liberation has been sponsored by the American government. It is a truly heartrending state of affairs when you see a secular and democratic group like the Kurds abandoned by everyone but the American government and its military personal. There is a reason Kurdish security is the model, and it has to do with the history and respect for freedom that pervades Kurdistan; something that should be respected across the globe.

The liberation of Iraq should be celebrated amongst all leftist groups across the United States, but it is spit on as a ploy by Zionists to subject America to Israel’s agenda. I hope that future believers in democracy and liberation will see the achievement that has been made in Iraq, and why it must be defended, even if an illiterate Texas president is the one perusing it.

Don’t Forget to Vote Today

…if you’re Korean. From what I am told, there are a slew of candidates on the ballot this presidential election, but it seems that won’t be stopping Lee Myung-bak from easily taking this nation’s top office. And you know he will be tough too; just look at this campaign van that keeps driving around my neighborhood.



Just look at his bad self! You know he is gonna kick some partisan ass! I think he should have taken that picture with a pair of brass knuckles in his fist. Now that would have been tough!

Lee Myung-bak is a member of the pro-American Grand National Party (their name in Korean is Han-na-ra, which works perfectly in political chants I must say). He wants to implement more free-market reforms and a stronger stance against the North Korean government. He has been dogged by corruption scandals during this campaign, but with the sitting president and his party being as stupid and incompetent as possible, it doesn’t seem to have effected the public’s opinion in a serious manner.



Now imagine this poster, but instead of his fist in the air, he is holding a machine gun! Now that would be some sweet propaganda!

Lee has also said some pretty un-PC comments in the past. He contributed some of his “life’s wisdom” to a leading paper in Korea, and this is what he said:

“When you go to a massage girl (prostitute), be sure to pick up an ugly one because too many men have used the pretty ones. And the ugly girl will be grateful to you and do her best to please you."

Imagine if Rudy Giuliani said that! That comment makes American politicians seem tame in comparison.

Korean’s do love their protesting, and this last week has been burdened by clashes between “progressives” and "conservatives" in a build up to the election. I had to get a new background check produced for my visa, but there were no police officers available in my local police station to pull fingerprints for me. They all had been called to deal with clashes in southern Uljin. I hear it has been worse in Seoul and Busan.

McCain’s Very Fine Week

It has been a pretty fine week for McCain. Not only did he pick up two key endorsements from the BostonGlobe and the De Moines Register, but also picked up a senator I greatly respect: Joe Lieberman.

Sen. Joseph Lieberman (Conn.), the 2000 Democratic vice-presidential nominee who currently lists his party affiliation as "Independent Democrat," will break party ranks tomorrow to endorse Sen. John McCain's presidential bid, according to sources close to the Arizona Republican The announcement will be made Monday in New Hampshire where Lieberman's moderate credentials may well help convince influential independent voters to support McCain.

I supported the Lieberman campaign when I lived in Connecticut, when he was thrown off the Democratic ticket by that hoodwink Ned Lamont. Lieberman was actually the first politician I dedicated time and effort to that actually won an election. I am still proud of the fact he has a spot in the senate and Lamont is regulated to Moveon.org meet-ups.

Remember back to the Democratic convention of several years ago when Jesse Jackson was amassing delegates in his ‘Rainbow Coalition’ at a rate that surprised everyone. Jackson was as surprised as anyone. His standard speech was that America was changing and that “Somethin’s happenin; in this land!” He would say that phrase in his eloquent way with a look of amazement on his face. His supporters would yell out in agreement. They thought they were on a roll.

But nothing was happening in this land at all. Once the real voting got underway cooler heads prevailed, business was conducted, and Jackson went away, never to be heard from in a significant way again. George Bush Senior scornfully tossed Jackson away with the phrase, “That time is past.” And it was. The Rainbow Coalition was as illusory as the real thing.

I will say, even as a McCain supporter, I find his chances of taking the primary a stretch, but with most of the candidates he is stacked up against, he may very well take the cake. Huckabee is a laughable joke, Thompson is hardly running at all, and Romney seems to have fallen into the top spot too early. Who knows; in a few weeks we may be watching McCain win the NH primary, and that may change the race.
